Marvel Comics has demonstrated flexibility in the face of retailer complaints and decided that it will ship the gold foil reprint of Secret War #1 on May 5th, three weeks before the release of Secret War #2. Marvel has also apparently decided not to tie the number of copies of the reprint editions that retailers can order to increases in their order for Secret War #2. Marvel will now allow retailers to order whatever quantities of the reprint of Secret War #1 they desire, although the publisher did include the following caveat in its message to retailers: 'However, please note: we are considering a limited print run on this book (the reprint of Secret War #1), and will allocate orders at our discretion, if necessary.'
