In addition to 56 new Star Wars Revenge of the Sith action figures, some of which come in a new 7' format, and roleplaying toys such as more sophisticated lightsabers and Darth Vader Voice-Changers, Hasbro unveiled a new Star Wars Attactix Game at this year's Toy Fair in New York. The game, which is distinct from WotC's Star Wars Collectible Minatures Game, features 75 different Star Wars mini-figures, which have a special patented base that ticks as the figure is moved. The object of the game is to be the last player standing and players plan their strategy, build up their squadron of fighters and then move them into position to attack their rivals. Players can count the ticks as they (and their opponents) move figures into position. As the figures are moved a special window in the base shows whether the figure's powers will be enhanced or not.
The Star Wars Attactix Game is sold in a standard collectible miniature's game format with starter sets containing five figures and blind booster boxes with three figures each. No special playing surface or mat is required to play the game. The new game will go into wide release in April.
