So far the answer to the question, 'Can the market absorb all the high profile DVD releases that are hitting the street this month,' appears to be a resounding yes! Right on the heels of incredible debut of The Mummy Returns (see 'Video Vanquishes Box Office') comes the release of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs DVD which racked up an amazing $25 million dollars in sales on Tuesday, the first day it hit the marketplace. Suncoast Video recorded its strongest single daily sales day of the year on Tuesday, with Snow White whacking the Godfather Collection in a true battle of the titans. The Snow White DVD broke all previous first day sales records by a long-shot, but with the Phantom Menace DVD set to debut next week, Snow White's record may well prove to be of even shorter duration than Mark McGwire's homerun record (sorry, Todd).
