According to The Hollywood Reporter, reporting on comments made by 20th Century Fox COO Peter Chernin, Fox is planning a big push over the next year for its upcoming Simpsons feature, due out in July 2007.  The company intends to leverage all of its assets, including TV network, satellite TV, book, home video, and licensing operations to first build audience for the film, and second, to exploit the attention the film gets to strengthen other divisions, according to the report.  A 'pulse campaign' of PR and promotion about the film will coincide with November, February, and May sweeps periods. 

The release date for the film was recently announced in a teaser trailer with Ice Age:  The Meltdown (see 'Ice Age Snows Competition').
