A sharp-eyed fan alerted the Anime News Network to a listing on the Sony Pictures Website for the October 31st release of Satoshi Kon's latest anime feature, Paprika.  Paprika, which was produced by Madhouse, is not scheduled for release until 2007 in Japan, so some fans are wondering if the Sony posting could be a mistake.  However Sony does have a rudimentary English language Paprika Website up, which would appear to indicate that an October release is at least possible.

Paprika, which is based on a 1993 science fiction novel about a female detective who enters into the dreams of suspects, is the latest work from Kon (Millennium Actress, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers), who returns to feature films (see 'Satoshi Kon Returns to Features') after directing his first anime TV series, Paranoia Agent, which has received lots of exposure on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.
