ADV has acquired the North American home video and broadcast rights for 009-1, a 2006 anime series based on a vintage manga.  The anime was produced by Aniplex (Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto) and TBS (Chobits).

The manga by Shotaro Ishinomori, who created Cyborg 009, Gilgamesh, and Kamen Rider, was serialized in Weekly Manga Action from 1967 to 1970, and reappeared briefly in 1974.

The series is set in a future world in which the Cold War has continued for 140 years.  The lead character is a cyborg undercover agent for a mysterious organization in an international political war.
