According to The Hollywood Reporter Sin City director Robert Rodriguez is in talks with Warner Bros. to direct a live action version of the 1960s cartoon series, The Jetsons.  Universal also reportedly wants Rodriguez to helm a film based on Sid & Marty Krofft's fantasy TV series Land of the Lost that will star white-hot comedy top-liner Will Ferrell.

According to the Reporter, The Jetsons project has the inside track because its screenplay, which has been written by Fanboys scribe Adam Goldberg, is much farther along.  Goldberg has worked on the script for over a year (see 'Live Action Jetsons Back on Track') and it is likely much more polished than Universal's Sleestak Saga, which has the advantage of a very bankable star.

But whether Rodriguez decides to do a 'space' movie or a 'dinosaur' movie, it is likely that he will be directing Sin City 2 first.
