Renegade Games and Foxtrot Games will co-publish Lanterns:  The Harvest Festival, originally solicited by Foxtrot through Kickstarter.  Designed by Christopher Chung, Lanterns is a tile placement game set in imperial China, in which players acting as artisans decorate the palace lake with floating lanters and try to earn the most honor before the festival begins.

Gameplay features a perspective-based mechanic that requires players to analyze the benefits they receive from placing tiles and compare them to the benefits they give to their opponents.

Lanterns:  The Harvest Festival, for 2-4 players ages 8+, takes about 30 minutes to play.  The game box inclues 36 Lake Tiles, 56 Lantern Cards, 20 Engraved Wood Favor Tokens, 30 Dedication Tokens, 1 rulebook, and 1 custom wooden Fishing Boat.  It will be released this spring at $35 MSRP.

Foxtrot's Kickstarter raised over $33,000 from over 1200 backers, funding last November.

Renegade plans to demonstrate the game at GAMA Trade Show, and will support the release with reduced cost demo copies, an in-store demo campaign, and consumer advertising to drive traffic to retail stores.
