The best-selling comics were decidedly unstellar again in December, a more frequent event in 2014; only two titles sold over 100,000 copies in comic stores according to information released by Diamond Comic Distributors.  Perennial bestseller Batman and a "Spider-verse" issue of Amazing Spider-Man were those top two books, with #3 the new Mark Waid penned S.H.I.E.L.D. title.

The new female Thor held strong, with the third issue at #5.  Avengers and X-Men: Axis numbers continued to drop, with a small uptick for the final issue.

The first issue of Marvel's Angela: Asgard’s Assassin was surprisingly weak at #15.

Diamond sold in over 24,000 copies of the new volume of Saga the first month, a showing that confirms that Saga is now in the absolute top tier of books with broad appeal.

The new Shaolin Cowboy graphic novel sold a modest number through Diamond (ranking #19), but was a quick sell-out.
