At Toy Fair, Konami Digital Entertainment was previewing upcoming releases for its Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, including the unnamed Yu-Gi-Oh!: ARC-V Starter Deck and the Crossed Souls Advance Edition.
The yet-to-be-titled ARC-V Starter Deck is planned for release on May 29th. The new deck will return to MSRP $9.99, from $12.99. "It is definitely geared towards beginners," said Yumi Hoashi, Vice President, Card Business for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "Some of our previous starter decks have been a little complicated. (This) will be a perfect entry point for new beginners to get into the game when the new ARC-V show starts, hopefully this year."
The Starter Deck will contain two 41-card decks in a single display, both based on one of the two main characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh!: Arc-V TV series, Yuya and Declan. One will have a light theme, one with a dark theme. Yuya’s deck will include the Odd-Eyes Saber Dragon card, and Declan’s deck will include the D/D/D Dragon Overlord Pendragon card.
Each deck will contain 35 Common Cards, 5 Shatterfoil Cards, 1 Foil Card, a Beginner's Guide, a Dueling Guide, and a Game Mat.
Konami was also showcasing preliminary packaging for the upcoming Crossed Souls Advance Edition, which will release in July (see "New 'Advance Edition' Configuration for 'Yu-Gi-Oh!'"). The new Crossed Souls booster will arrive on May 15th (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh!: Crossed Souls'").
