DC Comics fans may experience a little déjà vu when they see the latest faces joining the cast of CBS’s Supergirl, since both have worn the red cape in previous Hollywood adaptations.
Helen Slater, who portrayed Supergirl in the 1984 Supergirl movie, and Dean Cain, who played Superman in the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, have been cast in undisclosed roles for the TV pilot.
This follows the casting news yesterday that Chyler Leigh and David Harewood would be joining the cast (see "Two More for 'Supergirl'"). Laura Benanti (Nashville) was also recently announced in the recurring role of Kara’s birth mother, Alura Zor-El, who continues to guide her daughter across space and time.
