Iello Games will release a new edition of Michael Kiesling and Wolfgang Kramer’s ancient city-building game Mexica, plus three expansions for its fast-paced WW II game Heroes of Normandie this summer.

Mexica is designed by Kiesling and Kramer, and is part of their “Mask Trilogy” which includes Java and Tikal (and informally Torres).  Mexica was originally released in the U.S. by Rio Grande Games in 2002. Players are building the famous Aztec capital city on an island in Lake Texococo.  The goal is to build and claim districts, by portioning off areas with canals, connecting them with bridges, and placing buildings to dominate a district.  The districts and buildings are worth points in two scoring rounds, and the player with the most points at the end wins.

The game is for 2-4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in 60 - 90 minutes.  Iello plans an August release for the game, and will be making the temple building pieces out of resin instead of plastic, so MSRP has not been finalized.

Iello will release three separate expansions for Heroes of Normandie this summer: Sainte-Mere Eglise, Carentan, and Pegasus Bridge.  Specific details were not available, and box art is not final, but MSRP will be around $54.99 each.  As expansions, they will require the base game to play.  Iello recently released organized play kits for the game (see “'Heroes of Normandie' OP”).

Iello showcased several other upcoming releases at the recent GAMA Trade Show (see “Five New Games From Iello”).
