Calliope Games has launched its Kickstarter campaign to fund the “Titan Series” of gateway games from renowned designers it announced last summer (see “Calliope Announces 'Titan Series'”).
“The Titan Series is a line of gateway games—casual, family-friendly tabletop games—being created by some of the best game designers (‘Titans’) in the world,” the Kickstarter states. The games will fall into different categories including a party game, a word game, a worker placement game, a light strategy game, a dice game, a game of luck, and a card game, among others.
The designers involved are: Rob Daviau, Michael Elliott, Richard Garfield, Seth Johnson, Eric Lang, Mike Mulvihill, Paul Peterson, Mike Selinker, and Jordan & Zach Weisman. Depending on funding levels, additional games from James Ernest, Matt Forbeck and Peggy Brown may be produced.
The plan is to release three games a year over three years. The first set of games will be released within 12 months of the end of the Kickstarter (May 30). The first three games will be a worker placement game from Zack & Jordan Weisman, a risk management game from Paul Peterson, and a party game from Richard Garfield.
“Our target MSRP for all the games is $30,” Calliope’s Cassidy Werner told ICv2. “We'll be shipping backer and trade games at the same time, but due to the distribution lag, stores can expect games 2-3 weeks after backers receive their copies.”
