Warner Bros. has found a replacement for Michelle MacLaren, who left as director of the Wonder Woman feature earlier this week over creative differences (see "'Wonder Woman' Director Leaves Film"). The new director is Patty Jenkins, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This isn’t the first superhero movie to which Jenkins has been attached. She was signed to direct Thor 2 back in 2011 but left after “creative differences” (see "Jenkins Off 'Thor 2'"), just as MacLaren left Wonder Woman. Although at least one of the stars was upset about the change (see "Portman Angry About 'Thor 2'"), the film was completed on schedule.
The quick replacement of MacLaren means that barring new problems, Warners is likely to finish Wonder Woman in time to make its scheduled release on June 23, 2017 (see "Best in Shows—Q2 2017").
