At C2E2, Marvel announced two collections of classic S.H.I.E.L.D. tales as well as a series of one-shots in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the agency’s first appearance in 1965.  The two collections, S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Complete Collection and S.H.I.E.L.D. by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby: The Complete Collection, arrive in October.

S.H.I.E.L.D.: The Complete Collection, an omnibus hardcover, gathers the early stories of Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Jim Steranko, Roy Thomas, Dennis O’Neil, Archie Goodwin, Don Heck, Herb Trimpe, Sal Buscema, Barry Windsor-Smith, and Howard Chaykin among others.  The 960-page volume includes the Strange Tales stories where the “Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division”  debuted, as well as the first Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. volume, and agency appearances in Fantastic Four, Tales of Suspense, Avengers, Marvel Spotlight and Not Brand ECHH. MSRP is $99.99.

S.H.I.E.L.D. by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby: The Complete Collection is a 256-page trade paperback which includes Strange Tales #135-150, Fantastic Four #21, and Tales of Suspense #78. MSRP is $29.99.

Marvel also announced plans for new S.H.I.E.L.D.  one-shots which focus on characters from the new incarnation of the organization (Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate) –featuring Nick Fury, Peggy Carter, Agent May, Quake and Mockingbird.  The Nick Fury title will be written by David Walker; the Agent Carter issue will be written by Kathryn Immonen; the Agent May story will be written by Jody Houser (Orphan Black, CMYK); the Quake issue will be written by Matthew Rosenberg and Patrick Kindlon; Mockingbird’s story will be written by novelist Chelsea Cain.
