Oni Press will launch Junior Braves of the Apocalypse: Book 1 A Brave Is Brave, the first volume in its upcoming series of Young Adult zombie apocalypse survival graphic novels by Greg Smith, Michael Tanner, and Zach Lehner in hardcover on July 8, 2015.  The 216-page volume will have a cover price of $19.99.

Written by Smith and Tanner, Junior Braves of the Apocalypse, which was announced earlier this year (see “Winter Soldier Helmers Pen Comic Project”), follows the adventures of the young scouts of Tribe 65, who return from a camping trip to find that zombies have overrun their small town.  With their families missing and their homes destroyed, the plucky scouts must hone their survival skills in this exciting series that channels themes from works as disparate as The Goonies and The Walking Dead while adding plenty of wilderness survival tips.  To check out some of the interior art by Zach Lehner take a look at the Image Gallery below.

Oni Press is launching the first volume of Junior Braves of the Apocalypse digitally with a weekly digital chapter release on ComiXology that starts today.  The six digital chapters will be released one per week with the final chapter due on June 9.
