Here’s a round-up of news on four geek TV series.

IDW's 'Orphan Black' Comic
Orphan Black.  BBC America has renewed the Canadian-produced science fiction series Orphan Black for a fourth season.  According to The Hollywood Reporter, the critically-acclaimed science fiction series will be back for a 10-episode season starring actress Tatiana Maslany, who portrayed five different clones in the third season, which ends on June 20, and which pulled in 1.1 million viewers for its premiere episode on BBC America.

IDW Publishing has Orphan Black comics and games (see "IDW Announces 'Orphan Black' Tabletop Games").

iZombie.  This mid-season entry from Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas has been a hit with the critics and drawn enough of an audience (even when its lead-in The Flash was in reruns) to get a second season pick-up according to Deadline.  Though the TV series is quite a bit different from the Vertigo comic book, Diamond did report selling 431 copies of the first iZombie trade paperback in March (see "Top 300 Graphic Novels--Actual March, 2015").

Powers.  Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s Powers TV series has been renewed for a second season by Sony.  The Powers premiere was the most-watched series debut in the history of the PlayStation Network, and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony remains committed to adding value to its PlayStation Network with original programming like Powers, which stars Sharlto Copley as a detective who works in the “Powers” section of the police department, a unit devoted to dealing with crimes involving people with special abilities.

IDW Games has announced a full line of card, board game, and dice games based on Powers (see "Bendis 'Powers' Tabletop Games").

MaydayHeroes creator Tim Kring’s Imperative Entertainment has optioned the rights to Mayday, a new comic from Black Mask Studios that is written by Curt Pires with art by Curt Peterson.  The comic focuses on a drug-addled Hollywood screenwriter who stumbles on a Satanic cult’s plan to foment Armageddon (see "Black Mask Studio's Next Wave").

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. DC Entertainment announced that its Arrow and Flash spin-off show has been greenlit by The CW.  The show will features a mix of secondary characters from both dramas, plus some new faces (see “ 'Arrow'/ 'Flash' Spin-off Greenlit”).
