The winners were culled from more than 5500 fan submissions received by the company by the May 11 deadline. AEG staff selected 32 nominees which then went head-to-head in a bracket elimination competition voted on by the fan community, hence the unique expansion title: It’s Your Fault.
When the dust finally settled, the four champions chosen by Smash Up fans were the Sharks, Superheros, Greek Myth, and Dragons.
Alderac’s Todd Rowland confirmed to ICv2 that Smash Up: It’s Your Fault will be released as a standard four faction expansion box. Previous releases in the series have contained 80 faction cards plus 8 base cards. MSRP on those sets have been $19.99. Release of the new expansion is planned for Spring 2016.
The most recent expansion, Pretty Pretty Smash Up, which released in March, added a lot of cuteness to the franchise with its four factions (see “‘Pretty Pretty Smash Up’”).
