Valiant Entertainment plans to mail sample printings of  the first issue covers of its upcoming event series Book of Death (see “Valiant Kills Several Major Characters”), along with promotional items for the book, to select retailers, the company announced this week.  The sample printings will allow retailers to evaluate the potential sales impact of Valiant’s new “ultra-coated” cover stock prior to the final order cut-off of June 22. 

The other promotional items mailed to retailers will include posters, pre-order coupons, bookmarks, pens, and more.  Retailers are asked to contact Valiant directly to obtain the Book of Death promotional materials. 

Valiant is pulling out all the stops for this launch, including a special incentive companion series available to retailers that order the base series above the required order thresholds (see “Valiant Creates Retailer Incentive Companion Series”).

Valiant is also including six-page “Inside the Book of Death” bonus inserts in its June titles leading up to the release of the first issue.

Valiant has re-upped with Diamond in the run-up to this launch, in its 25th year.  Diamond will continue to have worldwide distribution rights to the comic and book channels worldwide.
