Chris Pine is in talks to co-star with Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman, according to Variety. He would play Steve Trevor, who in the comics crashes on Paradise Island and is nursed back to health by Diana, who then follows him back to civilization and becomes Wonder Woman. As Captain Kirk in the current Star Trek films, Pine has lots of geek cred.
Scott Eastwood was originally under consideration for the role, but he went to Suicide Squad instead (see "'Suicide Squad' Cast Comics Together"), according to the report.
Wonder Woman recently went through a director switch; Patty Jenkins is now set to helm the feature (see "'Wonder Woman' Director Named"). The film is currently scheduled for release on June 23, 2017 (see "Best in Shows – Q2 2017").
