In September, Alderac Entertainment Group will release Why First?!, a racing game that turns that concept of finishing first on its head.

In this game by Simon Havard, the player who finishes second will score the most points in each race.  After five races, the player who has collected the second-most points wins the game.  Mechanically, the game uses cards to control the movement of the racers, with players simultaneously choosing their actions each round of play.

Game board
Why First?! is a game for two to six players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about 20 minutes.  MSRP is $14.99.

Why First?! was originally published by Runadrake in 2012.  The new version is being produced by Pegasus Spiele in Germany, with AEG handling the English language.

AEG and Pegasus have now cooperated on a number of new titles, including the recently announced relaunch of the classic
