The action-comedy manga series was created by writer ONE and artist Yusuke Murata. Released via VIZ’s Shonen Jump imprint, both Vol. 1 and 2 will arrive in September, with future editions of the ongoing series published bimonthly. MSRP is $9.99 each.
The story follows Saitama, a super powerful hero who can easily defeat monsters and other villains with one punch, which leaves him very bored. So his goal is to find stronger opponents who can actually fight him.
VIZ began publishing the manga digitally in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2013 (see “Preview: 'One-Punch Man'”). It was recently nominated for an Eisner Award in the Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia category (see “The 2015 Eisner Award Nominees”). This spring, the series was green-lit for an anime adaptation in Japan.
VIZ also recently announced Yo-Kai Watch will launch in September (see “VIZ Announces 'Yo-Kai Watch' Manga”).
