The Dark Horse comic book series will provide additional insights into the character of the careless young woman who is transformed into a heroine, and also serve as a prequel of sorts that leads toward the narrative of the Mirror’s Edge Catalyst game. Christopher Emgard, the narrative director at DICE, the company behind the Mirror’s Edge franchise, is writing the new Dark Horse comic book series, and the Mirror’s Edge in-house art team of Emgard, Mattias Haggstrom, Robert Sammelin, Henrik Sahlstrom, and Erik Persson will provide the art.

Dark Horse Comics and Electronic Arts have announced the September 9 release of the first issue of Mirror’s Edge: Exordium ($3.99), a six-issue limited series that presents the backstory of Faith, the protagonist of the new Mirror’s Edge Catalyst video game that is set for release in early 2016. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is a reboot of the 2008 Mirror’s Edge game that introduced Faith, one of the more interesting heroines in video game history.
