DC Entertainment has announced the return of “Batman Day,” the celebration it launched last year as part of The Dark Knight’s 75th Anniversary Celebration (see “75th Anniversary of Batman Celebration”). This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 26.
Events will be held at comic book shops, bookstores, schools, libraries and other retail partners. DC is offering an official “Batman Day” event kit for digital download which includes activity sheets, trivia, and games. Interested retailers can sign up on DC’s website.
DC will partner with Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products and its licensees (Capstone, Penguin Random House, Scholastic, and DK Publishing) for the event. These partners will offer retail and digital promotional tie-ins.
DC is also hosting meet-and-greets at select comic stores, libraries and bookstores for the event, which will include appearances by DCE Co-Publisher Jim Lee, Grant Morrison, Scott Snyder, David Finch, Brian Azzarello, Cameron Stewart, Pat Gleason, Dustin Nguyen, Tim Seeley, Tom King, Dan Jurgens, Jeff Parker, Matthew Manning, and Daniel Wallace.
The date lines up with the expected release of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Deluxe Edition HC on September 23 (see “DC Does Classic Hardcovers for Holidays“), which will precede the late fall launch of The Dark Knight III: The Master Race (see “Frank Miller Returns to Batman”).
