With the original Naruto manga finally reaching a conclusion (see “'Naruto' Finale Debuts in October”), this movie introduces the next generation of ninjas, centering on Naruto Uzumaki’s son, Boruto, who resents his father, and is bent on surpassing his legendary accomplishments.  The movie was scripted by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, who also did character designs and served as chief production supervisor on the film.

The movie releases in Japan in August, with screenings planned for Australia and New Zealand later in the year. No American release date has been set.
