Comic-Con News:  At the Heroes Reborn panel in Hall H, show creator Tim Kring showed off a new extended three-and-one-half minute trailer for the 13-episode show that will debut on NBC on September 24. The trailer begins with a narrator speaking about “regret.”  Then it sets up the new series, which takes place about a year after a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas that was blamed on people with enhanced abilities, who are attacked by vigilantes and driven into hiding in trailer’s opening scenes showing the persecution of people with extraordinary abilities.

The first part of the trailer has a big narrative load, but it gets more interesting as more and more of the familiar returning characters from Heroes cast are introduced.  Predictably it was Masi Oka’s Hiro character who got the biggest reception at Comic-Con, where the Heroes Reborn panel was moderated by Greg Grunberg (see “Geek TV News Round-Up” for links to stories about which Heroes cast members will be part of Heroes Reborn).

The teaser trailer that was released last month can be viewed here (see “Full Trailer for 'Heroes Reborn'”).
