Comic-Con News: BOOM! Studios made several new series announcements leading up to Comic-Con, including a collected edition of its comic adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep , a twisted Santa miniseries from Grant Morrison, a new Cyanide & Happiness print collection and more.
In 2010, BOOM! partnered with Electric Shepherd Productions to release a comic book adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s sci-fi classic Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. The 24-issue series, illustrated by Tony Parker, was nominated for a Eisner Award for Best New series (see "2010 Eisner Noms Released"). In December, BOOM! will release a collection edition, which will include a new cover by Jay Shaw (Big Trouble in Little China) and essays from Ed Brubaker, Warren Ellis, and Matt Fraction.
Last summer, the publisher announced a new Grant Morrison project (see "BOOM! Studios Lands Grant Morrison"). This year, via CBR, BOOM! revealed Morrison’s project was Klaus, a six issue miniseries that reinvents Santa Claus as a Conan the Barbarian–type superhero, drawing on Siberian and Viking Santa myths. The series will be drawn by Dan Mora (Hexed), and will launch in November.
Cyanide &Happiness: Stab Factory is a new print collection from Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, and Dave McElfatric’s popular daily webcomic Cyanide & Happiness. The 200-page softcover collection will feature 30 strips not seen in the web comic. The book releases in November.
The studio released this teaser image for an upcoming project from Mike Carey (Suicide Risk, The Unwritten) and Mike Perkins (Deathlok) due in October. No other details were released.
