The 12 writers participating in the Transformers writers room have completed their initial work, and two scripts have already been ordered as a result, according to Deadline.  Akiva Goldsman has a blueprint for a new Transformers sequel to star Mark Wahlberg with Michael Bay directing, and Ant-Man writers Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari will script an animated feature origin story focusing on Cybertron.

The writers, led by Akiva Goldsman and including writers of Iron Man, The Walking Dead, Ant-Man, and Amazing Spider-Man 2, among others, were brought together in a space with the entire history of the Transformers to explore the franchise and develop film ideas (see "'Transformers' Writers Room Starts Monday").

After reviewing the work by the writers, executive producer Steven Spielberg felt that five of the nine treatments could carry films, and work is now beginning on the first two.
