Class, a new Doctor Who spinoff series with a teen vibe, will go into production next spring and be airing by the end of 2016, BBC Three announced Thursday.
The new series will be written by YA author Patrick Ness, who will also produce along with Doctor Who mastermind Steven Moffat and Brian Minchin. “No one has documented the dark and exhilarating world of the teenager like Patrick Ness, and now we’re bringing his brilliant story-telling into Doctor Who,” Moffat said. “This is growing up in modern Britain – but with monsters!”
The first season will be eight 45-minute episodes.
