The new character and suit, created by writer Jordan Morris and artist Luciano Vecchio, will debut in Battleworld, a limited series by Christos Gage and Marcus To that will launch in September 2025. Battleworld features characters from all over the multiverse assembling for a conflict on a patchwork planet, and Battleworld #3 reveals that one of these is the new, red-and-blue-suited Venom. The issue will go on sale on November 26 with a main cover by Leinil Francis Yu and a Venom variant by Phillip Tan.
Marvel will follow that up with Venom #252, by Al Ewing and Paco Medina, which will include a backup story featuring the new Venom by Morris and Jesús Saiz as well as another story by DeFalco and Frenz that ties into ASM #252. Venom#252 will go on sale on December 3 with variant covers by R.B. Silva and Cory Smith that are homages to the original covers of Secret Wars #7 and ASM #252.
“There is a story in [ASM #] 252 where he gets the suit itself,” Marvel VP of Print & Digital Publishing David Gabriel said at the PRH retailer event in San Diego (see “Marvel Announces ‘Alien vs. Captain America’”), “and sort of similar to what we did way back, and I wasn't there, but what we did during Secret Wars, where you saw all of a sudden the appearance of the new black costume, we are going to all of a sudden see the all new Venom Spider-Man costume appear in the issue of Battleworld out in November… There's a lot going on with Venom and Knull all throughout next year, so he's going to play a part in that.”
