Enterplay has announced a license to produce a line of collectibles bases on the popular Japanese kids show Yo-Kai Watch, which premiered in the U.S. on  Disney XD this week (see “Japanese Hit Comes to U.S. TV”).

Enterplay’s first release will be a Dog Tag collection which includes stickers and tattoos, launching in January.  The company also plans collector tins and sticker fun packs; and will collaborate with Grin Studios to release 3-D Puzzle Eraser packs, slap bands, micro building sets, and other merchandise.

Enterplay will be showing off the line at this week’s New York Comic-Con, and will be offering attendees a free limited edition Jibanyan character dog tag while supplies last.

TheYo-Kai Watch brand is a juggernaut in Japan, with the TV Tokyo animated show currently the top-rated program with kids 4 – 12. The first role-playing video game will be released on North America by Nintendo next month.  VIZ Media will release the Yo-Kai Watch manga in North America  (see “VIZ Announces 'Yo-Kai Watch' Manga”), and will be releasing a mini-comic as part of Diamond’s Halloween Comicfest (see “Titles for 4th Annual Halloween ComicFest Announced”), followed by the debut of the manga on November 3.  Hasbro will begin producing licensed toys next year (see “ First 'Yo-Kai Watch' Products Announced for North America”).
