Z-Man Games and sister company Pretzel Games have several games and expansions debuting over the next few months: Carcassonne: Over Hill and Dale, Thunder and Lightning, an expansion for Russian Railroads, and an expansion for Flick ‘em Up!.

Carcassonne: Over Hill and Dale, designed by Klaus-Jurgen Wrede, is a standalone family game focusing on agriculture, based on the popular Carcassonne series of games. Instead of towns and castles, players build stables for animals, and cultivate fields of fruits and vegetables.

The box contains 73 land tiles, 33 harvest tokens, 25 wooden meeples, 10 wooden stables, 5 50/100 tokens, a scoreboard, and a rulebook.  The game is for 2 -5 players, ages 7 and up, and plays in 35 minutes. MSRP is $34.99. Release is planned for December.

Pretzel Games’ Flick ‘ em Up! will release its first expansion: Stallion Canyon,  in November.  Flick ‘em  Up! is a wild-west dexterity game (see “ Z-Man Parent Announces New Imprint”), and the expansion introduces horses to the game, which allow players to move faster and cross canyons quicker. The expansion also adds two cowgirls, lassos, and “high shot” ramps. MSRP is $34.99.

German Railroads is an expansion for Z-Man's worker placement train game Russian Railroads.  The expansion adds new modules for the base game, including a coal module, a new Germany game board, and a solo “Single Ticket” version where a player can duel a dummy opponent. There are new engineers and more components to add to the game as well.

The box contains 4 Germany boards, 18 railroad extensions, 8 “?” tokens, a coal board, 12 foundries, 25 coal wagons, an industry marker, 20 cards, 8 income markers, 5 engineers, a factory, 2 blockades, a revaluation token, and a rulebook.  The game is for 1 -4 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 120 minutes.  Release is planned for December. MSRP is $44.99.

In January, Z-Man will release the 2-player game Thunder and Lightning, designed by Richard Borg. In this strategy card game, players take the role of Thor or Loki and fight each other’s army.  Since Loki stole Odin’s Crown, the  Allfather has given Thor his ring of power, Draupnir, to aide in his battle. The goal is to claim both artifacts to win the throne of Asgard.

The box contains a 50-card Loki deck, a 50-card Thor deck, and 2 wooden pieces. The game is for 2 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 40 minutes. MSRP is $24.95.

Another upcoming game, Skyliners, which premiered at Essen, is now planned for December release (see “ 'Skyliners' and 'Castellion'”).
