Here we round-up the news for three geek films from the past few days.

A new international poster for 20th Century Fox’s Deapool movie has appeared online, attempting to entice viewers with the Merc with a Mouth’s various assets.  The film opens on February 12, 2016 (see "Best in Shows--Q1 2016").  The trailers can be seen here "First 'Deadpool' Trailers."

Ridley Scott, who recently announced the title for the first post-Prometheus Alien prequel (see "'Best In Shows' Update"), has now confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that there will be three films made for the post-Prometheus storyline before it syncs up with the original Alien film.  The three films will answer "very basic questions posed in Alien: why the alien, who might have made it and where did it come from?"  Scott said at a recent press conference. Alien: Covenant will release in theaters on October 6, 2017.

The first Captain America: Civil War trailer, which debuted online on November 25 (see "First 'Captain America: Civil War' Trailer"), has set a world record with 61M global views in the first 24 hours.  The previous record was held by Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer, which debuted to 34 million views in 2014.  The movie opens in theaters on May 6 (see "Best in Shows--Q2 2016").
