Passport Game Studios will release Simurgh in North America in Spring 2016. Romanian publisher NKSN Games debuted the Pieluca Zizzi (Hyperborea, Asgard) tile-laying game earlier this year at Essen Spiel, where it quickly sold out.

Zizzi's game revolves around the clashes of powerful clans in a fantasy world full of dragon-riding nobles and simple spear-wielding warriors. It features an ambitious design that includes a main game board as well as player boards with both worker placement and tile-laying elements. The game includes one main game board, five player boards, 99 tiles, 25 worker miniatures, 120 resource tokens, 45 ability markers, five scoring markers, and a rulebook. MSRP and release date were not announced at this time.

The English-language version of Simurgh was funded through Kickstarter and reached its initial campaign goal of $21,000 in less than three hours. The project received $88,046 in backing from 1,138 backers ($77.37 /backer average). The extra Kickstarter funding will be used to produce the game's expansion: Simurgh: Call of the Dragonlord, which adds an expansion board, 22 tiles, five Wizard worker miniatures, 75 cards, 16 resource tokens, and 20 dragon ability markers.

Passport will also be releasing NKSN's Mistfall expansion, Mistfall: Valskyrr in January (see 'Mistfall: Valskyrr' Releasing in January).
