Games Workshop says its sales were "broadly in line with the Board’s expectations and 2014/15 first half performance" for the half year ended November 29. But its description of the sales trend was actually better than the results for the half year ended November 30, 2014, when it reported a 6.6% decline in sales (see "Games Workshop Says Sales Down"), with Continental Europe a particularly problematic market.
This year, the company said that in constant currency, it had “modest sales growth,” but that a strong pound will lead it to report a small decline in sales for the period.
After the 6.6% decline in the half year ended November 30, 2014, Games Workshop was able to turn things around in its fiscal second half, bringing sales up to a 4% decline for the full fiscal year (see "Games Workshop to Rebrand, Open More Retail Stores").
The company has changed its retail format and is in the process of rebranding its stores worldwide as Warhammer stores, and increasing their number by pursuing an aggressive schedule of opening new stores this year.
