There has been a post-holiday surge of geek movie news over the last couple of days, and we round it up here.

Marvel has released new images and concept art for the upcoming Doctor Strange, which you can see in the gallery below. Benedict Cumberbatch is slated to play the title character in one of only two Marvel Cinematic Universe Films slated for the year. Several more "Phase 3" MCU movies are due out in the near future (see "Geek Movie News Round-Up"). Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.

Olivia Munn has released an image of herself as Psylocke in the upcoming film X-Men: Apocalypse. On her Instagram account, Munn described her character as "a telekinetic telepath who chooses to kill with a sword because she wants to do it up close and intimate;" Munn's Psylocke is one of several new looks at iconic X-characters (see "'X-Men: Apocalypse' Synopsis Reveals Villain's Motives & Plans"). X-Men: Apocalypse opens on May 27, 2016.

Michael Bay is set to direct a fifth Transformers movie, he told Rolling Stone. Currently, the movie is in pre-production, with a tentative summer 2017 release. While the staggeringly huge $3 billion Transformers franchise has been a commercial success in films and beyond (see "'Transformers' News Round-Up"), Bay says this will be his last time at the helm: "It's fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else."
