Tim Curry will have a starring role in Fox’s upcoming two-hour production of Rocky Horror Picture Show, according to Vulture. Laverne Cox is playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter this time around (see “Geek Film/TV News Round-Up”), and Curry will play the criminologist narrator.

NBC’s upcoming Powerless comedy series will use recognizable DC superheroes, IGN is reporting. According to NBC executive Jennifer Salke, DC has “namedropped everyone. I don't think they’ve said anyone's off limits.” The pilot will also feature a known superhero, Salke shared. “[T]he main superhero that's featured is not one of those [Batman or Superman-type heroes], but it's someone recognizable.” The pilot order was given earlier this month (see “Post-Holidays Geek TV Round-Up”).

Showtime’s Penny Dreadful has also released a new teaser for the upcoming Third Season, as well as a premiere date of May 1. Titan Comics recently announced a deal to start releasing comics tied to the supernatural Victorian drama this spring (see “Showtime's 'Penny Dreadful' Comes to Comics”).
