Marvel is bringing back Steve Rogers as Captain America in a new series in which he’ll also get a new shield closer to the original Timely Comics version.  The new title, Captain America:  Steve Rogers, will feature “a more timeless take, with Captain America facing off against Hydra and his classic rogues gallery,” according to Nick Spencer, who’s writing the series.  Spencer will also continue to write the Sam Wilson version of the title, with a more “ripped-from-the-headlines approach.”

The new title was first revealed on an ABC primetime special on the character’s 75th anniversary.  Marvel will release a special commemorative magazine in March, along with a special issue of Captain America:  Sam Wilson that will feature Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers, and Bucky Barnes (see “Marvel Celebrates Captain America's 75th Anniversary”)>

The Sam Wilson version was introduced in November 2014 (see “Marvel Launching New 'Cap' Series”).
