We round up seven new ads and trailers that were released on Super Bowl Sunday, presented here in the order they aired.
First up, in the pre-game show, was an ad for Captain America: Civil War. The first trailer was released Thanksgiving weekend (see “First ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer”); the film will be released May 6.
Next, Deadpool, in an early spot in which viewerspot was likely to be extremely high. There’s been a ton of Deadpool marketing (see “New Full ‘Deadpool’ Trailer”); the film opens this weekend.
Disney’s live action Jungle Book, which opens April 15, also got an ad early in the big game. There’s been video around since last fall (see “International ‘Jungle Book’ Trailer”).
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is due for release June 3, 2016 (see “’Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’ Trailer”).
Independence Day: Resurgence opens June 24.
And the best of the batch, the ad for X-Men Apocalypse, which opens May 27. The first trailer was released in December (see “First ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Trailer Released”).
The last ad, below, is a Coke Mini ad that uses Marvel-produced footage of Ant-Man and Hulk to tell a heartwarming story about Coke, a promotional use of Marvel movie characters on an epic scale.
