Marvel Studios has announced new cast members and shared the first production image from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which began principle photography today.
New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing, Stargate). Though most of their roles are under wraps, director James Gunn confirmed via Twitter that Pom will be portraying Mantis.
Cast members returning for the sequel include Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (the voice of Groot) Bradley Cooper (the voice of Rocket), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Karen Gillan (Nebula), and Sean Gunn (Kraglin).
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017 (see “Best in Shows--Q2 2017”).
