The creators of the webcomic Cyanide & Happiness have announced a party game called Joking Hazard which has already raised $2 million on Kickstarter, well on track for breaking into the coveted Top 10 (see “Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters”).

The party style game is simple. Every player starts with seven cards. A card from the deck is turned over, then the judge for the round plays a card. The other players try to finish the three-panel comic strip in the most funny or outrageous way by taking a card from their hand and playing it face down. The judge picks a winner, who receives a point. Everyone then draws back up to a seven card hand. The first person to three points (or the agreed on score) wins.

Decks of Joking Hazard are available for a $25.00 pledge. An additional expansion set and a second “Red Box” edition are available for higher costs. No retailer level is available. Trade release plans were not announced.

The Kickstarter was funded in just 27 minutes, and has raised $2,098,168 from 43,858 backers ($47.84 / backer average) as of this writing, with 8 days remaining in the campaign.

Of course, this won't be the first card game with a webcomic connection to fund for big bucks.  Exploding Kittens, co-created by webcomicker Matthew Inman of The Oatmeal, was the largest Kickstarter of all time, at $8.8 million (see "$8.8 Million Card Game Kickstarter Biggest Ever").
