This fall, IDW will be releasing Rayguns and Rocketships, a new board game from Scott Rogers, the veteran video game designer responsible for God of War.

Inspired by classic pulp science fiction, Rayguns and Rocketships is a tactical ship-to-ship combat game that also features boarding actions and fencing-inspired melee, designed to evoke nostalgia for earlier games while having modern cutting-edge game play. It plays in 90 minutes, with each of 2 – 4 players taking the role of a Planeteer captain with a unique rocketship and crew. Gameplay includes free-for-all space combat, or scenario-based campaigns.

Rayguns and Rocketships has more than 40 detailed miniatures, 8 rocketship maps, 8 captains, 4 Planeteer factions, as well as numerous cards unique to the four factions, an achievement chart, and a space map. MSRP has not yet been announced.

In May, IDW will release two tabletop games: Back to the Future: OUTATIME and Awesome Kingdom: Mines & Labyrinths (see "IDW Goes 'Back to the Future,' Returns to 'Awesome Kingdom'").
