At the GAMA Trade Show, ICv2 had a chance to catch up with Paizo Publisher Erik Mona to learn about the company’s latest expansion to its Pathfinder organized play program: “Venture Agents.”
Paizo already uses two ranks of “Venture Officers” to oversee its regional OP: state-wide Venture Captains and Venture Lieutenants for smaller areas and cities. The new tier, called Venture Agents, will develop exclusive one-on-one relationships with participating retail stores. The purpose of these Agents will be to provide a single point of contact for the store and assist them with finding Pathfinder Society players and GMs. The new Agents will enable Paizo to better service its participating retailers in areas that cover a large geographical area, which may be difficult for the Venture Captains and Lieutenants to handle.
Paizo also plans to enhance its OP with a new Retailer Registry on its website. Retailers who sign up for this program will be able to get supporting material like scenarios for the Pathfinder Society for free.
Paizo also announced plans to produce a line of pocket-sized Pathfinder books (see “Paizo Announces ‘Pathfinder’ Pocket Editions”). The company recently celebrated the conclusion of a record-breaking Humble Bundle campaign which will bring an influx of new players to the game (see “‘Pathfinder’ Humble Bundle Hits $1.298 Million”).
