Paramount Studios has picked up the movie rights for Greg Grunberg’s upcoming two-part graphic novel series Dream Jumper, with J.J. Abrams attached to produce.

According to THR,  Abrams will co-produce an animated adaptation with Grunberg, under his Bad Robot production company.  The graphic novel was announced at San Diego Comic-Con last year (see “'Dream Jumper: Nightmare Escape'”). Dream Jumper tells the story of Ben, who has the ability to pop in and out of people’s dreams. However, a sinister dream monster wants Ben’s power for itself, and it’s not above manipulating Ben’s friends in the dream world to get what it wants.

The first 208-page volume, Nightmare Escape, will release on June 28. MSRP is $12.99.

Grunberg, who has 1.4 million followers on Twitter, is an actor who was most recently part of the Heroes Reborn miniseries, but has also appeared in Alias, Lost, and Mission Impossible 3. He is the director-producer of Felicity.
