CBS TV Studios took to social media to tweet the news that its planned Star Trek TV series will begin production this fall in Toronto.
The new Star Trek will be the first original series on CBS All Access, the digital platform of CBS. The premiere episode will be broadcast on the network in January 2017.
Bryan Fuller was named showrunner in February (see “Bryan Fuller on New 'Star Trek' Series”). The show will be executive produced by Alex Kurtzman.
