9th Level Games is producing a card game set in the world of Kobolds Ate My Baby! entitled Knuckle Sammich.  The new game is expected to release in January, 2017.

In Knuckle Sammich, the players are Kobolds trying to get a good meal in before the food runs out, while avoiding becoming a meal for the other Kobolds or their ruler, the bigger, stronger King Torg.  Playing cards allows players to use “take that” style actions to affect the other players while gathering food for themselves.  In the end, the best fed Kobold wins.

Like the role-playing game that inspired it, Knuckle Sammich was designed by Daniel Landis and Christopher O’Neill, and features artwork by fan-favorite John Kovalic.  The card game includes 36 cards and 60 “Sammich Tokens.”  It is intended for 2 to 8 players.  MSRP is $19.00.

9th Level is funding the project through a Kickstarter campaign, which reached its modest goal in the first three days.  Campaign backers will receive their copies in January, with release into the trade to follow.

The latest edition of Kobolds Ate My Baby was released in 2013 (see “‘Kobolds Ate My Baby RPG’”).
