Marvel has announced the launch of a new superteam, the U.S. Avengers, debuting in a new title this fall, according to the Washington Post.

The series will be written by Al Ewing (2000 AD, Jennifer Blood, Loki: Agent of Asgard), with art by Paco Medina (New X-Men, Deadpool, Nova). The team will be part of the organization formerly known as Advanced Idea Mechanics, now redubbed American Intelligence Mechanics (A.I.M.). The team will be headed by billionaire Brazilian mutant Roberto Da Costa.  The team will consist of Thunderbolt Ross the Red Hulk, Cannonball, an all-new Iron Patriot, a Captain America from the future (Danielle Cage, daughter of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones), Pod, and the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl.

“We wanted a couple of members that’d speak to the U.S. in the title — hence super-scientist and supporting player Dr. Toni Ho stepping up to the main team as the new Iron Patriot, and General Ross waiting in the wings as the Red Hulk,” Ewing said.

The first threat the team will face will be the Golden Skull, who has a history with Captain America.
