Upper Deck is expanding its ePack hybrid digital/physical trading card product to non-sports with the launch of Alien Anthology ePack on July 20.  The ePack product, launched in the sports category in January with Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey, consists of physical cards that collectors can buy in packs, open, and collect online.

The Hockey ePack product was “very, very well received,” Upper Deck Senior Content and Analytics Manager Ben Swiderski told ICv2.  “We sold out of our very first product.”

Cards can be left on the Upper Deck website, where they can be collected, viewed, and traded.  Or collectors can put in a shipping request and receive the physical cards at any time.  Cards can be sold online if they are transferred from the eCard to the CheckOutMyCard platform, which can also be used to place cards on other sales platforms such as eBay.

The Alien Anthology hobby product was released to trade earlier this year.  The ePack Alien Anthology product has many overlapping cards with the trade product, but has exclusive parallel inserts and achievement cards, and the Ian Holm autograph card is exclusive to the ePack.

Prices for the ePack products are $5.99 for a five-card pack, $114.9 for a box, and $1349.99 for a case (12 boxes).  There is either an autograph card or a sketch card, plus a Space Marine dogtag insert card in every box.
