An ICv2 Release.  Vertigo founding editor Karen Berger will present an Insider Talk at ICv2’s Insider Talks and Happy Hour, an invitation-only event for business professionals at New York Comic Con.  As the editor of groundbreaking comics and graphic novels at Vertigo, Berger learned a lot about how to broaden the market for comics.  Now she’s sharing her experience in an Insider Talk on “Expanding Comics Readership Further,” which will include such topics as breaking the rules to create concepts, characters, and stories which stand out from the crowd; publishing material by a diversity of writers and artists; and her thoughts on the variant cover phenomenon. Berger's first post-Vertigo work, Surgeon X, launched this week.

Berger joins the previously announced speakers author Rob Salkowitz, graphic novel scribe and Broadway producer Vivek J. Tiwary, and ICv2 CEO Milton Griepp in presenting short talks Thursday afternoon, October 6, from 3-5 p.m., followed by a cocktail reception from 5-6 p.m.
