Blood Blister #1 ( January 4, $3.99), which will debut on January 4, is a horror saga about an amoral man, who finds the corruption that he scoffed at gradually taking over his once perfect body and leading him to a hidden world of unspeakable horror from which there is no escape (sort of a reverse of The Picture of Dorian Gray). Hester (Deathstroke, The Coffin, Firebreather) has created a narrative that is downward spiral of horror and corruption, and Eisner Award-winning artist Tony Harris (Starman, Ex Machina) brings it to life.
Animosity: The Rising (January 18, $3.99) is a 32-page, one-shot spin-off from Marguerite Bennett’s animals v. humans series Animosity that describes the devastating effects of "The Wake,” and shows how various parts of the world were affected. Juan Doe (American Monster) provides both the interior art and the cover. Bennett, whose star has been rising, was recently announced as the writer of a new Batwoman series from DC (see “Marguerite Bennett Writing New Ongoing Batwoman Series”).A New Series From Phil Hester & a 1-Shot From Marguerite Bennett
